We at the Sheffield Institute for International Development are looking to recruit a Research Associate.

We are seeking a dynamic, energetic researcher in International Development whose prime motivation is to do world-class impactful research. Successful applicants will join a growing network of post-doctoral researchers based here.

The requirements of the job are to work across series of related research projects which are ongoing in SIID and which all relate to different aspects of development data and the green economy in East African contexts, particularly in Tanzania. We seek to build on the synergies that are arising across these research projects with respect to opportunities for impact and policy engagement, reporting in media and social media, new academic writing and future research projects.

We want to appoint a dedicated person who will be able to both assist with the individual projects themselves and identify and pursue their synergies.

You will have completed or be close to completing a PhD in a relevant subject and have experience and skills in inter-disciplinary and collaborative research. You should also have a basic understanding of the Swahili language (at a minimum).

2-year fixed term post, full time, Grade 7, Salary range: £31,866 – £40,322 per annum

Closing date: 2 December 2019
