Dr. Johan Oldekop

Dr. Oldekop is currently a Marie Curie Research Fellow at the International Forestry and Resources Institutions (IFRI) network at the University of Michigan. Dr Oldekop’s work focuses on both rural development and the conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem services. He has worked extensively on community forestry and food security, and the link between natural resource management policies and conservation outcomes. He combines a range of approaches from the natural and social sciences and have ongoing research projects in three of the world’s biodiversity hotspots: the Ecuadorian Amazon, the Brazilian Atlantic Forest, and the Middle Hills and Terai Region of Nepal.
