Dr. Adeniyi Asiyanbi holds the Anniversary Postdoctoral Fellow in Global Environmental Politics in the Politics Department, University of Sheffield. Niyi has a PhD in geography from King’s College London. With interest in environmental politics, he applies insights from political ecology, governmentality studies and geography to the intersection of climate change, conservation and neoliberalism. His PhD research considered how carbon forestry schemes, specifically REDD+, operate as a Foucauldian governmental regime, how they produce various subjectivities among environmental actors and to what effects on people and the environment. He has published in GeoforumEnvironment and Planning AEnvironmental Conservation and Public Understanding of Science. He has also contributed to The International Handbook of Political Ecology (Edward Elgar, 2015).
