On the 8th October, SIID hosted a joint event with the Africa Research Institute (ARI) exploring cases of contemporary civic conflict in Africa. The event brought together discussion from three panellists: Zainab Usman, PhD Candidate at Oxford University, who discussed Boko Haram, and SIID Researchers Tom Goodfellow and Paula Meth, who discussed violent protest in Uganda and gender-based violence in South Africa respectively. The discussion was then opened up for a Q&A from the audience.

The audio podcast from the event is now available, together with slides from the speakers. Video highlights, related articles and a written summary will be published on the ARI website in due course.
