Dr. Lorenza Fontana will be at the University of Oxford this Saturday 25th October, to present at a half-day conference on the topic of ‘Bolivia: The Election and Challenges for the Forthcoming Period of Government‘.

The conference, ran by the Latin American Centre at the University of Oxford, will seek to place the recent election results in Bolivia within a wider socio-economic and political context and to discuss problems likely to confront the next government which will take office in January 2015.

Lorenza Fontana is one of four speakers at the event, and will be presenting her recent research into the extractive industry and social movements in Bolivia . This work forms part of a larger research framework for Lorenza, which centres on land governance, rural dynamics of claim-making and identity-building and new models of plurinational citizenship.
