7th Annual Postgraduate Conference

Thanks to our delegates, panel chairs, student organising committee and photographer who helped make the 2016 SIID Postgraduate Conference so fantastic.

We welcomed over 30 postgraduate research students from more than 10 countries and 4 continents who presented their work, contributed to discussions and gave feedback to their peers in a friendly and encouraging environment.  We were fortunate to have Morten Jerven from NMBU Norway as our keynote speaker, giving a lecture on ‘Poor Numbers’ and the problems of African data. Our conference was organised by a committee of Masters and postgraduate research students from the University of Sheffield, as well as members of our SIID Fellowship who helped chair panels and facilitate discussions. We very much hope that all our delegates and colleagues enjoyed the day as much as we did.

A selection of photos from the conference can be found on our Facebook page
